About the farmer
Balkaran Singh
Balkaran Singh is a resident of village Rorawali, Muktsar district who is working as labourer for his daily earning. He is 55 years old and is a diabetes patient. Despite being so old and sick, he works day and night to feed his family. They have a small piece of land but it is not a source of earning as there is no facility to irrigate the crops. Even if they grow something it does not flourish much hence it does not even help his family to get enough earning. As a result, he is left with doing labour only. He also has responsibility of his mother, who is 70 years old diabetic, along with this his wife is a heart patient so with other expenses Balkaran has to take care of medical Expenses. As the couple is blessed with 2 children, a boy and a girl who are 20 and 15 years’ old both are studying which adds up to the family spending. It is very difficult for a daily wage labourer to meet family’s medical and education expenses with such a small earning.
As we know, the heart disease and diabetes are such serious problems that one has to bear a lot of medical expenses. When three out of 5 members in a family need regular medical assistance, it becomes very difficult for a whole and sole earner to become strong financially and emotionally.
Your support can help them to improve their financial condition. A small contribution can make a big difference.
